What's for Dinner Tonight?

This is a million-dollar question for moms everywhere. Tonight, I know that I've got chicken thighs thawed. What I don't know is what I want to put with them.
This would be a time of day that I often talked to my dad. I can't call him tonight and ask what would pair well with my chicken thighs from my pantry and refrigerator. It's not the biggest thing in the world to want to ask him, but I miss asking him the little things.
Dad started cooking more than homemade pizza regularly about 20 years ago when my stepsisters went to college, but I often talked to him on his hour-long drive home from work to get ideas for my dinner. When my husband and I were first married, Wayne worked nights, and I was often on my own for dinner. Dad usually suggested a breakfast dish on those nights. After I had kids, I frequently needed ideas on what to do with the ingredients we already had at home. Dad was good at helping me come up with something that made sense.
After surveying what we had and a recently gifted pasta ladle (mine was so broken I had to throw it out a couple of months ago), I settled on chicken parmesan with a side of corn.
